What Is the Definition of a “Quick Weight Loss Diet”?

A lot of people are looking for a quick weight loss diet – but what do they mean by “quick”?

The definition of “quick” may vary from one individual to another.

If you are unfamiliar with Isagenix – let me take a moment to explain what Isagenix is, and how it promotes weight loss that is “quick, effective and healthy”.

First of all , Isagenix is not a diet – Isagenix is a nutritionally-dense food formulation.

When people talk about Isagenix – they are most often referring to one of the two flagship “nutritional cleansing programs” – known as the “9-day Cleanse” and the “30-day Cleanse”.

The purpose of these two programs is to eliminate toxins from the body – that is why they are called “cleanses” – but the way that they eliminate toxins from the body is by providing the body with the essential nutrients that it needs to function the way it was intended to by nature.

This is a very important concept to understand – our bodies were designed to eliminate impurities naturally – but they don’t.

And the reason our bodies don’t always eliminate toxins naturally is that they are overwhelmed by two factors: 1) the sheer volume of toxins that are in our environment, our food supply and our drinking water and 2) the fact that our bodies are not functioning optimally because  the food we consume does not contain the nutrients they need to be at their best.

As a result of these two factors – our bodies store toxins – some toxins are stored in water and then eliminated, while others are stored in fat cells – they are called “fat-soluble toxins” – and they stay in the body, encased in fat cells.

When our bodies encase the toxins that they are exposed to in fat cells – the result is weight gain.

The obesity epidemic that the western world is facing now is not caused by the over-consumption of calories only – it is caused by the sheer volume of toxins that our bodies are absorbing and which end up being stored in fat cells – which is why we are all getting fatter.

That is Why We Are Gaining Weight – But How Do We Lose Weight Quick?

As I stated above, Isagenix is a very nutritionally-dense food – that is what it is.

It is a superfood – and when you go on either the 9-day or the 30-day Isagenix “cleanse” – what you are doing is flooding your body with the nutrients that it needs to function optimally – and remember – you can’t get these nutrients from typical foods because our foods no longer have the vitamins, minerals and proteins that our bodies need.

And the following is Dr. Dennis Harper’s rejoinder to Mr. Greenlaw’s statement quoted above:


There’s no doubt that 99 percent of the cleansing that takes place in a person’s body has to do with when the organs are functioning properly. There might be, maybe, one percent that’s associated with some of the ingredients that actually do reach out and grab toxins. But by and large, it has to be your own body because your body is the number one detoxifier. The liver is a big one, [and] the kidneys. Even the lungs help eliminate a lot of these toxins. So you want to have all the organs working the very best you can and that’s what Isagenix does. It gives you the nutritionally-dense foods to make – or help your body achieve – its own balance.


 What We Have Learned From These Two Very Important Quotes

The two excerpts quoted above demonstrate that what Isagenix does to provide your body with the “nutritionally-dense foods” it needs to achieve its own balance – and that means eliminating toxins that have been absorbed and restoring the body to its proper weight.

When toxins are eliminated by the body – fat cells go with them – and the result is weight loss.

So, we now know that Isagenix promotes weight loss by flooding the body with “nutritionally-dense foods” – those are Dr. Harper’s precise words – so it is certainly a form of “healthy weight loss”.

Let’s Consider Dr. Harper and Mr. Greenlaw’s Own Experiences on Isagenix

Both Peter Greenlaw and Dr. Dennis Harper have personal experiences with the Isagenix programs. Here is Peter Greenlaw’s account of his experience:


Well, briefly, a little over 10 years ago, I had some very, very serious health challenges that Dr. Harper is aware of to the point where my doctor had said [that] if I didn’t do something drastically different that day that I walked into my physical, that I wouldn’t see my two sons graduate from high school. I had a very, very high heart attack risk. As a matter of fact, on a scale of zero to 100, I was around 85 and I did the traditional route – diet, exercise and Lipitor in that case. A friend of mine who had played professional football is the one that introduced me to first Isagenix and then later, to toxicity. But the bottom line was after two months of extreme diet and exercise – and Ron, you probably know I was a former member of the University of Colorado Ski Team, tried out for the Olympics, so at one point, I was a world class athlete – so when my doctor said “exercise”, I figured I could lick this. After two months, I had lost about eight pounds and my cholesterol hadn’t come down that much. So the good news was when I went on [Isagenix], literally in less than a week, I lost more weight than I had in a month and I went on to lose about 30 pounds in 30 days and went back to my doctor about two months. My heart attack risk had gone from like 85 to 15. I went, “Oh, my gosh!”


And now, let’s look at Dr. Harper’s Account of his experience on Isagenix:


When I first tried Isagenix. I was goaded into it by my brother who told me it was the most wonderful product even though he had never tried it. Eventually he finally convinced me to try it and so I did. I said, “But I’m going to measure my body”. I’m going to find out what’s going on with my body because I’m pretty sure it’s just a diuretic. When I went on the nine-day cleanse, I ended up losing 15 pounds. Eight pounds was water, so I thought, “Aha! It is a diuretic!” Six pounds of fat and only one pound of lean body mass, which kind of struck me because I really expected to see more lean body mass and less fat. Well, then I went on to the maintenance program] after that and the following week, you would have expected to see all that water come right back. But instead what happened, I lost an additional three pounds and my muscle mass returned to normal. After another month of this, I had actually seen an increase in my muscle mass by three pounds. This is not by exercising either. Please understand that I didn’t change anything and I also saw my weight drop down – I actually had a 25-pound weight loss. It was a net 22-pound weight loss but three pounds of that was lean body mass increase.


Let’s Quickly Review the Results of Dr. Harper and Peter Greenlaw’s Programs

As you can see from the accounts provided above – Peter Greenlaw lost 30 pounds in 30 days on Isagenix – and reduced his heart attack risk from 85 to 15.

Dr. Harper initially lost 15 pounds on the 9-day program, and went on to lose another 10 in the subsequent 30-day period for a loss of 25 pounds of fat – and a gain of 3 pounds of lean muscle mass!

Once again – 30 pounds in 30 days for Mr. Greenlaw and 25 pounds in about 40 days for Dr. Harper.
