Isagenix Business Getting Started as an isagenix Associate

Understanding the Isagenix Business Model

Isagenix is a network marketing company, which means that Isagenix products are not sold through traditional retail outlets, such as grocery stores and health food stores.

Isagenix products are sold by independent Isagenix Associates – people like me – who have had real-life experiences with Isagenix products and wish to share those experiences with friends, family members and colleagues – and just by telling others about the positive results that they have had with Isagenix products – Isagenix Associates earn money.

If that sounds like a simple but effective business model, that is exactly what it is.

In the excerpt below, Steve Bentley explains what he would say to someone who wants to get started as an isagenix Associate but is unfamiliar with network marketing:


The way I would explain it to them is that, knowing what I know now about network marketing and direct sales, I wouldn’t buy any particular product “retail” if I could get it through a direct sales company because if it’s a reputable company like Isagenix, then it’s going to be a really good quality product and here’s why. When you buy something in the retail environment, there’s so much waste associated with distributing and marketing and advertising that product. There’s so much money that needs to be spent on other things outside of the manufacturing of the products or the quality of the products. The actual money spent on the manufacturing or the quality is so little compared to a direct sales model and here are the specifics.

Typically, in a retail environment, only 5 to 10 percent of the cost that somebody is going to pay for a product is for manufacturing. The rest is all mark-ups or other warehousing systems. There are middlemen in between where the products are manufactured and where it’s going to end up. There’s the store mark-up. So for example, you take a vitamin store that buys a product from a company. They might buy that product from the company for $10. But they’re going to double the price of that product for no reason other than that they set up the store and they have to pay for their infrastructure, their advertising, telling people why their store is so great and why you should come in there and buy this product. The consumer is paying for all that waste. You compare that to a direct sales company – there are thousands of direct sales companies that start up every year. Ninety percent of them don’t last two years because they’re not managed properly. Their products aren’t really well-marketed. They don’t work.

Isagenix has been around for over 10 years now. For a company to get to that point, the products have to be great because it’s all based on results. That’s why the products work so well with Isagenix because it’s based on results. I wouldn’t be sharing this product with my clients and my friends and my family if it didn’t work. So people can be as skeptical as they want. I know the products are phenomenal and, when we start to look into the network marketing model, instead of 5 to 10 percent of the final cost of the product being manufacturing, that component of it is actually 50 to 55 percent in Isagenix. So there’s a much higher amount of money being spent on the manufacturing and the product quality is so much higher than what you’re going to get in any retail environment.

Reviewing the Key Points Made by Steve Bentley in This Excerpt

For those who may not have a lot of experience with network marketing companies – and may have some misconceptions about them – Steve Bentley provides some very important statistics in the above passage:

  • in a retail environment, only 5-10% of the cost of the product typically goes into manufacturing that product – the rest is spent on marketing and distribution
  • with a network marketing company like Isagenix – because products are not sold in stores and do not require massive marketing and distribution consumers to buy them – 50 to 55% of the cost of the product goes into manufacturing it

It just makes a lot more sense than having sales people in retail stores sell a product they they have never used to people they don’t know!

So, Want to Get Started with the Isagenix Business Opportunity – Now What?

As we stated above, the network marketing business model is very simple and very sensible – Isagenix rewards its Associates for referring their products to others.

The more referrals you make, the more you earn.

Now – while the philosophy and the system are very simple – there is an advantage in being a member of an successful team.

Don’t take this the wrong way – if you have a friend, family member of business associate who has just started out with isagenix and you wish to join his or her team – by all means, do so.

Isagenix is a very collegial, non-competitive company and no one wants to encourage people to hurt the feelings of a friend or colleague.

However – if you are interested in earning money as an Isagenix Associate and you don’t already have a team to join – the following comments from Steve Bentley will illustrate how an experienced Isagenix mentor guides you through the process of becoming an Associate:


I’m going to ask the person, “What are you looking for?” Well, Isagenix can help you by improving mental focus, reducing cravings, getting healthier, putting on lean muscle mass, increasing metabolism, losing body fat, reducing aches and pains, sleeping better – all kinds of benefits that you’re going to experience from using these great products. They’re different for everybody. I’m going to ask – of all the benefits that you can expect to get from using Isagenix, what are you looking for? Then I’m going to ask some more questions. “If you want to lose 20 pounds, how quickly do you want to do that? Are you looking at Isagenix as a lifestyle program or are you just looking for something to lose a little bit of weight.” It’s whatever that person wants.

Once I know what they’re looking for, then I can go over some options with them that are going to give them different packs or different products that I think will be useful for them. The decision is theirs. I’m not going to try to persuade somebody to do something but I can certainly let them know what packs might be the most beneficial for them and the most economical and different ways of getting it. I’m going to say this: You don’t need to join Isagenix in order to get these products. You can just purchase them retail. They will pay more money. But you can just come in, buy it retail through the retail site and then you can use the products to get the benefits and it’s great. There’s a money back guarantee, 30-day guarantee. You can send it back if you’re not happy and get your money back. But what I like to do is help people save money and get healthier at the same time. So if you’re interested, we can help you become a member of Isagenix – the term is called “associate”. You pay a yearly membership fee that allows you to get the wholesale products for a whole year. In return, you’re going to save money – if you decided to do a 30-day cleansing and fat burning system, and bought that retail with all the taxes and shipping, it might be a little over $400. If you decide to come in as a member, it would be a little over $300. So the benefits are great.

Then what happens is that once you come in as a member, once you start to see the results that I know you’re going to experience – because if you don’t, you send it back and get your money back – so, when you start to see the results, I would like to talk to you about those people you know who would also benefit from the program. Why wouldn’t you want to share something you found that really works? When they agree to do that, then I go, “OK, great. Let’s talk about signing you up as a member and later on, I’m going to show you how you can help your friends get the same benefits that you’re experiencing. If you decide to continue to use the program, buy products or whatever, you just keep deciding you want to use the Isagenix products, then what I will do is if there are people that you send me, that are interested in getting started, we will put them in under you.” The company will say, “Thanks for sharing Isagenix with people. We’re going to put some money into your account that you can either transfer into your bank account or that you can use to spend for your products going forward.”

Reviewing the Key Steps in Getting Started an an Isagenix Associate

As I explain in the Preface to the PDF report, I have known Steve Bentley for a number of years. I first met him through a mutual friend in the running and triathlon community.
